For now. For now. Give him a few years…
I don't know, some people really can change. And most druggies eventually taper off in middle age if they manage to live to see 40 , you just hear a lot more about the ones who don't .
I believe so too. He has more reasons now, with marriage to Olivia and 2 kids. It’s fulfilling, for a man.

First, babies are wonderful. Second, speaking of John, I don't think he'll stay clean and monogamous for good. He kind of tied off his prior life and moved on very quickly. Doubt he fully processed the reasons he used in the first place.
I think people feel bad for his ex because it is really intuitive to feel for someone who stuck around through a lot of really really crappy times with him (severe addiction etc) only to turn around and leave her when he was turning it around finally. Because the human desire for fairness sees that and thinks 'she earned the happy life with him'.
In reality I think that when people are in the throws of addiction they are sometimes drawn to people who, perhaps in entirely unintentional ways, make it a little easier to be an addict. The relationship is compatible with the addiction, so to speak. And I don't think it is at all unusual for someone to finally shake the addiction and with it shake off a lot of the relationships that they had during the addiction as a clean break. Staying clean sometimes requires a whole new life so as not to fall back into those patterns.
Anyway, he's an addict, forever, clean or not, so whether he stays clean and monogamous for good who knows. But I think people read the wrong things into the way the last relationship ended. It is telling to me that it happened right as he got clean. Hooking up with OM right after/during isn't the wisest choice but he's been clean the whole time with her (from what we've seen) and so that relationship has a fundamentally different dynamic than the last one. And I think he has a better chance of staying clean with her than he did with his ex wife. I feel for her, she didn't do anything wrong it doesn't seem like. But sometimes relationships just aren't good for the people in them and they are destined to end.

Everything with them feels very PR driven. Announcing every life event in magazines and for TV shows. Staged paparazzi photos. Carefully timing out these announcements even though a majority of it could easily be private. John went on the Seth Myers show seemingly to just say how happily married he is. He didn't seem to be there for any other reason. All of these rapid fire life announcements suspiciously taking place after his ex promoted her book release. It's like an endless reputation cleanse media tour.

You said it with the cleanse tour. He's still trying to recover that clean, loveable comedian image that was tainted with the drug and cheating reveals.
And not to demonize Olivia Munn, but the cancer (tragic) and new babies (celebratory) haven't erased the way she and he callousedly launched their new relationship. She doesn't owe anything to the public, but she's still got that low moral character stink on her.

I couldn't agree more. It's interesting how a new baby makes people forget. I think they deserve to be able to move on by now but it's like they want to prove that their relationship is something more than it is. People have their minds made up about John one way or another at this point and he's still popular enough that he doesn't need to be doing these pathetic media interviews whenever anything happens in his life.

Yes, I don't have a positive view of either of them! I saw him on Seth Meyers too. It seemed so forced.

Absolutely this!
I still think he is funny and talented and will watch his stuff because of that but I'm not really interested in his persona any more.

I have a hard time separating the stink of the artist and their work. I can't really watch Brad Pitt movies the same way. I dislike Johnny Cash and Neil Young for the same reasons. I never cared for the Foo Fighters, but Dave Grohl is on the list now too.

He's talked about how he really enjoys the variety show format and how his favorite project he's worked on was the Lunch Bunch which was just a variety show with kids. Also his whole persona with the suits and the kind of old-fashioned way of talking is geared toward that kind of job. It's the natural progression of his career in many ways.
But in order to get one of those jobs you have to be loveable and he's currently not loveable. He's "problematic." And even people who are most inclined to give him the benefit of the doubt and are rooting for him might not want to see him in a talk show role because of the addiction issues.
NBD if it doesn't happen for him -- a lot of comedians have aspired to that job and not gotten it because there are so few available. He can do stand up and write and do a bit of acting and will be fine. But I think he has loftier ambitions and that's why he's working so hard to rehab his image in this way that often feels really forced.

Wow that's very interesting and probably true. I actually think he would be great in a talk show role. He's a truly gifted performer. It's hard as a fan of his since he was just starting out to see him behaving like a cliche. Tabloids, paparazzi photo shoots, etc. I didn't have a particular opinion about his former wife but she seemed a lot more grounded than the Olivia Munn types. If someone asked me before all of this went down who would be the cringiest person for John to associate with? It's Olivia 😂😣

Obviously I don't know her medical situation, but I also had non-genetic breast cancer. While I didn't have my ovaries removed, it was presented as an option because my liver enzymes did not respond well to the drug Tamoxifen. The next option is an aromatase inhibitor, which you can only take if you are post-menopausal or suppress your ovaries via removal or shots.

And there are pics of her with a totally flat stomach (like teeny tiny) back in June/July. How did she go from that to birthing a whole human in September? And I say this as someone who never gained more than ~20 lbs per pregnancy/am back to a size 2 after 3 kids. But I definitely had quite noticeable bumps each time by 5-6+ months pregnant and was living in maternity clothes for a while after birth.
I love how you had to make sure people knew you were a size 2 and didn't really gain weight after 3 kids. Congrats!?
